Terms of Service

By creating an account, downloading, or using MishMish (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and MishMish ("we," "us," or "our").

MishMish is a daily Quran companion app. The Service offers a free tier and a premium subscription tier ("MishMish Premium") that unlocks additional features such as advanced Quran paths, deeper tafsir, and unlimited journal history.

We continuously improve the Service and may add, modify, or remove features at any time. We will give reasonable notice for material reductions in functionality available to paid subscribers.

You must be at least 13 years old to use MishMish. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when you create an account, and to keep that information up to date.

MishMish Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription billed monthly or annually at the rates displayed in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase.

All subscription billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on the platform you used to subscribe. MishMish does not directly process or store your payment information.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store or Google Play settings on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain Premium access until then.

Refunds: Refund requests are governed by the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not directly issue refunds, but we will support reasonable refund requests submitted to those platforms.

Free trials, where offered, automatically convert into paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period unless you cancel beforehand. You will not be billed during the trial.

Quran text presented in the Service is in the public domain. Translations and tafsir content are sourced from freely-licensed classical scholarly works, with attribution provided in the app where applicable.

User-generated content, including your reflections, journal entries, and personal notes, belongs entirely to you. We do not claim any ownership over this content. By creating it within MishMish, you grant us only the limited license needed to store, sync, and display it back to you.

You agree not to:

• Misuse, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its servers and networks.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
• Use the Service or any of its content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
• Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data that is not your own.

The MishMish name, logo, cat mascot, custom illustrations, original written content, app design, and software are the intellectual property of MishMish and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to use our brand assets except as expressly permitted in our brand guidelines.

MishMish is a daily companion app, not a substitute for formal Islamic education or qualified scholarly guidance. We are not scholars. The reflections, summaries, and tafsir excerpts presented in the app are intended to spark engagement with the Quran, not to issue religious rulings.

For matters of fiqh, fatwa, or any binding religious question, please consult a qualified scholar in your tradition and locality.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall MishMish, its affiliates, officers, employees, or contractors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of your use of the Service.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD $100).

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms other users, our infrastructure, or the integrity of the Service. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from within the app. Termination ends your right to access the Service. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MishMish is incorporated, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email and via an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
